<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The lecture, based on international and our own scientific and clinical experience, examines aspects of epidemiology, features of clinical manifestations, diagnostics, and treatment of HIV infection in children. It covers complex issues related to the study of adverse events associated with the use of antiretroviral drugs, disorders of various organs and systems directly or indirectly related to the effects of HIV, drugs, and comorbid pathological processes. It presents materials related to the problem of cardiovascular diseases, the risk of which in children increases with age, the duration of HIV infection, and the duration of antiretroviral therapy. It emphasizes the importance of metabolic disorders (impaired lipid and glucose metabolism), the role of endothelial cell damage and dysfunction of the vascular endothelium of the heart and brain in the early development of cardiovascular diseases in children, and proposes an algorithm for providing assistance to children with HIV infection and dyslipidemia during antiretroviral therapy. The lecture is intended for a wide range of specialists, residents, and students of medical universities.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>ВИЧ-инфекция</kwd><kwd>антиретровирусная терапия</kwd><kwd>нежелательные явления</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>HIV infection</kwd><kwd>antiretroviral therapy</kwd><kwd>adverse events</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Глобальные стратегии сектора здравоохранения соответственно по ВИЧ, вирусному гепатиту и инфекциям, передаваемым половым путем, на 2022–2030 гг. cdn.who.int.media/docs/default-source/hq-hiv, дата обращения 15.10.2024.</mixed-citation><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Global health sector strategies for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections, respectively, for 2022–2030. cdn.who.int.media/docs/default-source/hq-hiv, date of access 15.10.2024 (In Russ.).</mixed-citation></citation-alternatives></ref><ref id="cit2"><label>2</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">ВИЧ-инфекция у детей.
